GOLD COAST WEDDING - A DIY DREAM AND ONE, MASSIVE, PARTY!

Private Property, Gold Coast, Australia

Ceremony Time: 3.00pm

Time of Year: Mid-October (rainy day)

Photo Time: First look & portraits 1.50pm - 2.10pm / 4.40pm - 5.10pm wedding party & portraits / Night photos 8.20pm - 8.25pm

If there's one thing Emma and Sam knew how to do, it was throw a party. And there's something so special about a private property wedding. Having a space that's completely your own gives you the freedom to create a celebration that actually feels like you. And Emma and Sam took full advantage of that. With Emma being such a creative person, there were so many thoughtful DIY elements throughout their Gold Coast wedding. You could tell that every little detail had been considered, and the result was a wedding that felt completely personal to them.

I NEEEEED to talk about this barn because WOW.

Emma and Sam completely transformed the space with beautiful draping that fell from the ceiling all the way to the floor. The fabric softened the entire room and gave it this dreamy, romantic atmosphere.

And then there were the lamps.

Not just any lamps. I'm talking absolutely MASSIVE statement lamps!

Before all the celebrations kicked off, Emma was getting ready in the cutest bridal pyjamas.

And Emma's wedding shoes?

LIME GREEN.

Seriously, how fun?!

I absolutely love a bride who's happy to have a little fun with her wedding outfit, and those shoes were such a cool way to bring a pop of colour into the day. From the getting-ready pyjamas to the lime green shoes, Emma's personality came through in so many of the details.

Now, this is possibly one of my favourite details from the entire wedding.

Emma and Sam discovered that both sets of their parents had gotten married on the exact same date.

What are the chances?! And the best part is that it was a complete coincidence.

So naturally, once they realised, there was only one thing to do. They had to get married on that date too!

If you're planning an outdoor wedding on the Gold Coast, you'll know that the weather can be a little unpredictable.

Emma and Sam's wedding day was overcast, with rain coming and going throughout the celebrations.

But a few sprinkles weren't going to stop these two. And honestly, overcast skies can be so lovely for wedding photography. The soft, even light is flattering for portraits and lets all the beautiful colours and details really shine. Sometimes the best thing you can do on your wedding day is embrace whatever the weather decides to do, and we even got a cheeky rainbow out of it.

Okay, this might be one of the FUNNEST wedding reception entrances.

Emma and Sam entered their reception to Daddy Cool.

The groom's name is Sammy Jewell.

Sammy Jewell. Daddy Cool.

Get it?!

Okay but seriously their entrance gave the BIGGEST ENERGY EVER!

Imagine everyone standing on their chairs, waving napkins around and the couple dancing in the centre amongst the tables. Unreal!

The rest of their night continued with good vibes, banging tunes and of course, no shortage of champagne.
